About Me

Hi, thanks for visiting my website. I’m Loren, someone who is currently employed and is looking to return to the design field. I have a bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication and six years of experience in graphic design. I am currently taking online courses to learn more about full-stack development.

I am experienced in…

Adobe Photoshop

I used Photoshop extensively in my previous design job. I made designs for print, web, and merchandise. The above image of a social media post combines a photograph I took with text and a pattern used for the shoe. I also used Photoshop to make the GIFs on the resume page.

Adobe InDesign

While creating projects for my portfolio, I imagined what it would be like running a magazine about national parks. The above images are an example of an article that would be in the magazine, completely set up in Adobe InDesign. My portfolio page and case study about this project have more information.

Adobe Premiere Pro

Most of my professional experience using video editing software was with Pinnacle Studio, but I’ve found Adobe Premiere Pro pretty easy to pick up. This is a commercial I made for a bank in one of my self-initiated projects. I combined text, graphics, music, and videos from Adobe Stock to create the commercial.

Basic HTML

When I worked for Jazz Tap Center, I maintained and updated their websites which were originally set up by my boss around 2003. I was also involved with maintaining their merchant accounts since customers purchased products and registered for workshops through these websites.

Pinnacle Studio Video Editor

Pinnacle Studio was the main video editor I used professionally. Crossfades and similar dissolves were my go-to functions when introducing a video and creating montages. I also tinkered with the audio for certain videos when needed.

Foxit PDF Creator

The place I worked at accepted customer orders through a few different methods, and one of those methods was through PDFs. Management decided to step up their game and create fully editable PDFs where customers could not only type in their information but also make selections that changed how the PDF looked (like showing additional menu options and calculating dollar amounts).

Jotform Online Form Builder

Jazz Tap Center had an email and mailing list form when I started working there, but at some point, they asked me to do research on something to replace their old forms. After some research, we all decided to go with Jotform. This allows someone to create a form within Jotform’s website and plug it into their own website while viewing responses to the form in both Jotform’s website and the business’s email.

Word / Excel

I’ve had years and years of both professional and personal experience using Microsoft Word and Excel software and similar products like Google Docs and Sheets. Plus, I love spreadsheets!
